Herschel Sizemore - In His Own Style
ACUTAB
Taught by Herschel Sizemore
Also featuring Alan Bibey
2 Hour DVD/VHS Video + tab booklet

Whenever the question of the most important bluegrass mandolinists of all time is debated, one name that seems to pop up on everyone’s list is Herschel Sizemore. Many historians of the music feel that Herschel’s style was one of the first and most substantial departures from the Monroe style that so defined the emergence of the mandolin as a solo instrument in bluegrass.
In his first ever video instructional presentation, Herschel discusses and demonstrates his unique style using a number of popular fiddle tunes and several of his own compositions - like the classic Rebecca. A booklet is included with both tab and standard notation for each tune.

About Herschel Sizemore

Herschel Sizemore is widely recognized, among musicians, as a master on the mandolin, and by a great following of fans for his ability to play clean, clear bluegrass. Herschel had an extended run with the Bluegrass Cardinals in the early to mid 90's. He also played with Jimmy Martin and the Sunny Mountain Boys, with Del McCoury's Dixie Pals and was one of the founding members of the great Shenandoah Cutups. As the title of this album denotes, Herschel has a style all his own on mandolin. He is creative in his playing, and has a talent for writing instrumentals, which is unusual in this day and time. On this album, Herschel presents eight of his original compositions, six of them never before recorded.
