ACUTABWe are very proud to offer Butch Baldassari, AcuTab transcriptions, Vol. I
to the mandolin world. The book features transcriptions, in both standard notation
and tablature, for 25 of Butch's solos chosen from his Old Town CD, from Weary
Hearts' By Heart, and the two Lonesome Standard Time albums, Lonesome Standard
Time and Mighty Lonesome. The transcriptions were prepared by Butch himself so
you can be sure that they are dead-on accurate. Left hand fingerings and helpful
performance notes are also provided.
Butch is a student of the Bill Monoe mandolin style and it shows in his music
- both in his versions of Monroe material and the music he writes. His clear,
melodic style will benefit any mandolinist who studies it.

acclaim. He has since released "Old Town," a solo album of bluegrass
instrumentals on Rebel Records and "Evergreen," a collection of traditional
Christmas music played on several instruments in the mandolin family. Butch is
