Richard Thompson has been blending traditional Celtic and English music with American rock 'n' roll since the mid-'60s when he helped found the seminal British folk-rock band Fairport Convention. Throughout the years, he has become one of our greatest musical treasures, touring and recording regularly both as a solo artist and with his band.

Richard teaches the intricacies of his unique guitar style through the analysis of seven classic originals: "Don’t Let a Thief Steal into your Heart," "The Great Valerio," "When the Spell is Broken," "Move It on Over," "Rockin’ in Rhythm," "Time to Ring Some Changes," "I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight" and "Was She a Woman or a Man?"

You’ll learn to play in standard and open G tunings, use accents, fills, octaves, bends, double stops and other invaluable techniques that bring these wonderful songs to life. In addition, Richard teaches and demonstrates his ideas on solo rock ‘n’ roll playing, covering rhythm techniques, boogie bass patterns and other invaluable material.
