Here's a new approach to guitar lessons for kids that is fun and easy! The guitar is tuned to a special open chord ("SmartStart Tuning"), so your child can immediately make a pleasing, musical sound simply by strumming across the strings. By learning a few simple chord positions ("Easy D," "Easy C" etc.) combined with strums and rhythms a child can easily play many well-known songs: "Are You Sleeping," "This Old Man," "Old Joe Clark," "Kumbaya," "Old MacDonald," "Buffalo Gals," "She'll be Comin' Round the Mountain," "Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho," and "Sweet Betsy from Pike." Other important musical information is taught: the parts of the guitar, how to tune up, use of the pick and the capo, choosing a correctly-sized instrument and more.
