Marcy Marxer is a multi-instrumentalist, teacher and children's performer. After
studying music as a child, she trained in theatre at the American Academy of
Dramatic Arts and Ringling Brothers Clown School. Marcy has performed extensively
throughout the world since 1977, most often with her musical partner Cathy Fink.
This highly-acclaimed duo is a top team on the family music circuit: Their numerous
recordings have won awards and recognition from Parents' Choice Magazine, the
American Library Association and many other organizations.
One of the most influential old-time fiddlers on the scene today. He's
also a remarkable guitarist, banjoist, and singer who learned directly from renowned
musicians Tommy Jarrell and Albert Hash, two of his mentors in the Blue Ridge
Mountains. Thanks in part to his time spent with these old masters, Bruce has
earned numerous awards at fiddle and banjo contests around the South, including:
Galax, Virginia; Mount Airy, North Carolina; and the Appalachian String Band
Festival in West Virginia. Bruce has performed extensively at festivals and concert
venues throughout the US and abroad. He is a highly sought-after fiddle and banjo
teacher, and teaches his own intensive fiddle workshop program all over the United
States. He is a regular instructor at Augusta Heritage Center, Jay Unger and
Molly Mason's Ashokan Music Camp, and Alisdair Fraser's Valley of the Moon Scottish
Fiddle Camp, among others. His most recent CDs, " Poor Man's Troubles" and " Lost
Boy" are on Rounder Records.
