Rob's new AcuTab book contains the tabs for all of his solos on Big Time, his celebrated solo release on Rounder records. The CD features his Blue Highway bandmates on a mix of traditional and original material, all showcasing Rob's unique and highly creative reso guitar work.
Included in this 45 page book are more than 2 dozen solos in tablature - every dobro solo, intro and harmony part on the Big Time CD is included. Rob created these tabs himself and checked our proofs for accuracy, so you can be sure that the represent exactly what he played. Rob also has written some helpful performance notes and his comments about each tune, and included a few photos that help demonstrate some particularly tricky techniques.
The selection of tunes includes some traditional favorites like Wayfaring Stranger, I Am A Pilgrim and I'm Thinking Tonight Of My Blue Eyes, plus a number of popular fiddle tunes like Fiddler's Dream. See the Song List link below for a run down of all the tunes in the book.

Rob Ickes, IBMA's "Dobro Player of the Year" from 1996 -1999, is one of the top resonator guitarists playing today. His band, Blue Highway, has topped the bluegrass charts and has won numerous awards. Rob has also toured and recorded with Alison Krauss and the Cox Family, Weary Hearts, and the Lynn Morris Band. He has appeared on numerous albums, including the Grammy-winning "Great Dobro Sessions," produced by Jerry Douglas and Tut Taylor. Rob's latest solo CD, "Slide City," is on Rounder Records. He plays Scheerhorn resonator guitars.
