Greg Davis began his music career in Ft. Worth Texas playing bluegrass with his
brother (faimed bluegrass guitarist) Brad Davis. After coming of age Greg made
the move to Nashville to settle as a professional musician. Greg debuted his
banjo talents on the recent hit single "Only In America" - recorded
by Brooks and Dunn. Greg has performed with the McCarter Sisters, Jon Randall,
Jerry Douglas, Marty Stuart, EmmyLou Harris, and most recently with the acclaimed
Sam Bush Band. Greg's fresh and exciting banjo style propels this band and his
vocal harmonies blend perfectly with (brother) Brad's lead voice as only two
brother's can. Greg's turbo-charged seven-string banjo is blazing trails in neo
bluegrass music with his new act WhiteWater. What began as a "fun gig" for
four of Nashville's top sidemen looking for a "creative outlet" when
they were not working with major country acts has recently come to a full rolling
boil with their Raisin' Cain Records release of wHITE wATER's project "No
Gold On The Highway." wHITE wATER's lead guitar player and singer, Brad
Davis, explains "I have spent the last ten years on the road and in the
studio with Marty Stuart. While I loved the gig with Marty, I missed playing
acoustic music and I missed performing my own material. wHITE wATER was originally
formed so that I could occasionally get creative and have my acoustic fix when
I wasn't out on tour with Marty. I never imagined that the band would take off
like it has and I never dreamed that it would turn into my full time gig."
