90-min. video, Includes chords + music book
Essentially the same lesson as "Learning Tenor Banjo," making use of
the longer-necked, mellower plectrum model, good for solo playing. (The tenor
has a shorter neck and a higher, sharper sound, good for cutting through other
instruments in a band situation.) Four-string players tend to be fiercely devoted
to one type of banjo or the other, so we have produced a separate video for each
instrument.
Buddy Wachter is one of the world's foremost 4-string banjoists. He began his professional career at the age of 17 with the Fred Waring Orchestra, and he has subsequently played with Benny Goodman, Bob Hope, Arthur Fiedler, Ferrante & Teicher and Max Morath, to name a few. He has performed and conducted workshops throughout North America and Europe, and has recorded several albums, both solo and with others.
