Bob Carlin

Bob Carlin's commitment to banjo music-from Africa to Appalachia-has earned him renown as a player, recording artist, instructor and musicologist. He learned the timeless clawhammer traditions directly from many of the original players and their recordings. Bob's work at the Library of Congress inspired a National Public Radio series. He has performed on NPR's "Weekend Edition" and "A Prairie Home Companion," and on TNN's "Fire On The Mountain." Bob has recorded for Rounder, Kicking Mule, TimeLife, and for his own label, Car Tunes Recordings.
