Tablature Book

It's here at last! We finally have copies of the long sought-after tablature book that banjo players everywhere have been waiting for. Bela and Tony have painstakingly transcribed 21 selections from their popular CD, and present it here for players who want to dig in for a real challenge.
"Solo banjo music dates at least back to the late 1700s. This is our update. A barrage of bluegrass, a bevy of original tunes, a middle eastern sojourn, rags, jazz, Bach, fiddley tunes and a whole lot more. All this is played mostly on metal strung, five string banjos, with an occasional nylon too, usually with picks but sometimes without. In a couple of instances there's wah-wah pedal and stereo digital delay - spice for the stew." (From the CD jacket notes)
Songs: "Ruben's Wah Wah," "2fourteen," "Liberec," "Free Improvisation #2," "Assunta," "Old Joe Clark/June Apple," "Beaumont Rag," "Kingfisher's Wing," "Fort Monroe/Danville Days," "Yaha Yaha," "Rings of Saturn," "Green Willis/Whiskey Before Breakfast," "Oma and Opa," "Solaris," "Flapperette/Red Pepper - Spicy Rag," "Triplet Fever," "Bach Violin Partita in D Minor," "Did You Ever Meet Gary Owen, Uncle Joe?," "Middle Eastern Medley," "Twisted Teen," "Au Lait."
About Bela Fleck
Béla Fleck has revolutionized the place of the 5-string banjo in contemporary music. An accomplished composer and banjo virtuoso, Béla's complex and lively blend of music was originally inspired by influences as varied as Earl Scruggs and Charlie Parker. Béla played banjo with New Grass Revival for eight years and his debut release with The Flecktones earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Jazz Instrumental Composition. He was #1 on the Jazz Charts and Frets Magazine initiated him into its "Gallery Of The Greats."
